Sunday Brunch a Casa

I can’t remember the last time Keith and I had a Sunday all to ourselves. Our weekend schedules have been so packed that when we woke up today without anywhere to be, we weren’t sure what to do with ourselves. We attended the beautiful Friday Wedding of some dear friends in Upstate NY, and since the celebration debauchery went well into Saturday, we didn’t get much sleep. Though we were just planning on heading back to the City after we checked out of the hotel, we had to pass Woodbury Commons to get on 87 South, so clearly we had to make a small detour. But, like any place where Keith can satisfy his sneaker addiction and I can get a bag, sunglasses, and boots for bargain basement prices, it turned into a much larger detour than either of us expected. So after two days of celebrating and shopping, today was the perfect day to just relax with some good food and each other. Our brunch menu included scrambled eggs with red peppers, onions, tomatoes, smoked cheddar cheese, and basil, with Lewis Waite Farms Bacon, and potato wedges roasted in bacon fat. Though Keith normally leaves the cooking to me, he is way better at cooking eggs than I will ever be, so today I played sous chef and we ended up with a great meal in record time.
