Thanksgiving in Durham

NYC SkylineOn Wednesday Morning we hopped a plane and flew to North Carolina, where my mother, my cousin, and her fiancee live.  Growing up large family holidays used to be the norm, but since we all moved to different states after college, being able to get together has  become near impossible.  This Thanksgiving we got two of the four families (among my father’s siblings) together, and had a wonderful long weekend at my mom’s and my cousin’s house.  Clearly the one in the family that got the ‘party-throwing/hostess’ gene, Lisa put out beautiful, tasty, and bountiful meals that would have made our grandmother proud every time we sat down.  It was very tempting to think about becoming permanent house guests.
